Welcome to Anjo’s Pizza and Pasta, a family owned restaurant where tradition meets taste.
Since 1949, we have proudly served homemade pizzas, pastas, salads, and more, delighting diners with authentic Italian flavors and heartfelt hospitality.
Our story began in Madrid, lowa, with Harry and Ann Tancredi, our founding proprietors and visionaries in Italian cuisine. Harry who was from Termoli Italy, and his wife Ann whose family was from Emilia-Romagna together brought their culinary heritage to the Midwest, crafting handmade Italian dishes that quickly earned acclaim. They even introduced lowa to some of their first frozen pizzas, revolutionizing how locals enjoyed Italian food. Anjo’s soon became a beloved institution across the state, celebrated for its expertly prepared dishes like Manicotti and Chicken Marsala, often featured in local newspapers.
Today, owner and local resident John MacGregor and his family proudly continue their grandparent’s legacy here in Mount Pleasant. John and his family bring generations of tradition and passion to Anjo’s.
Our recipes are steeped in history, passed down through the generations, many lovingly recorded by hand from oral traditions.
